About Manetain Organics

Manetain Organics is a hair care company that produces organic handmade hair products for African women. We make use of indigenous ingredients that are beneficial for the hair as well as supportive to the local community. We pride ourselves in being one of the top organic hair care producers in the country.

A snap survey of retail shops in Zimbabwe shows that almost 80% of the products on the shelves are for Caucasian hair or have ingredients that are not beneficial or potentially harmful to Afro textured hair. The 20% of the products available for Afro textured hair are imported and expensive. So the problem became clear, how can we provide hair products specifically tailored for Afro textured hair using natural ingredients grown and harvested in Zimbabwe and neighboring countries.

Established in 2015 Manetain brings a new solution to healthy hair for natural hair. We have gone a long way into creating a brand that African women can identify with. Our packaging and brand aesthetic are geared towards celebrating Africa. When you touch it, see it, smell it you know you are holding Africa in your hands. Our products are handmade in small batches to ensure every jar is blended and whipped to perfection. We don't compromise on quality.

We just don't help you invest in your hair we also allow you to support a household. We source raw materials from women in the lowveld of Zimbabwe which are the driest areas of the country with erratic rainfall averaging 500-600. An average family of five survive on $30 a month from casual jobs such as thatching, chopping timber and small scale mining. Ironically these area also have some of the largest population of indigenous Baobab trees and Marula tree which produce oils and butters used in our value chain. We offer women in this area an alternative source of income by providing us with Marula and baobab fruit which are processed to produce butters and oil in our production.

Simply put, our products are good quality, organic toxin free products that are tailor made for Afro textured hair. Our primary offering consists of a hair care range comprising of four types of hair butter and in the near future shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner made for the African market.
